O Little Town of Fayetteville

When I first moved to Fayetteville, NC, I thought to myself (and shouted out loud many times), “What is this place?!” I just didn’t get it. The closest H&M, at the time, was more than an hour away, the Macy’s here is so small it should be called a boutique, and all of the Goodwills are loaded with stretched out cotton turtlenecks and tons of nurse’s smocks in different prints! Like, what the heck? I felt lost, hopeless and yearned for just a glimpse of creative fashion and style. However, this reality forced me to shop in a few stores I would never previously have gone into. I must say, what I found surprised me.

FayettevilleThis is one of my favorite finds – a $7  jean jackets from a store called Roses! I took my perfectly oversized denim jacket home and basket weaved the back with my handy dandy glue gun. Ain’t life grand 🙂

I can’t wait to see what I’ll find next!

Have you had any great finds like this in your town? I love Fayetteville for challenging me to find new places to shop!

  1. Hi Breena! I am so happy to welcome a fellow Fayetteville Blogger to the mix! I love denim and this jacket is definitely a find worth celebrating!! I look forward to seeing more of your posts! Again, Welcome!!

  2. Girl, I totally understand! I grew up in Mt. Olive, which is about 45 minutes from Fayetteville and it’s an even smaller town. I mainly shopped at Roses and Family Dollar if I didn’t want to travel 30 minutes away. Roses has always been one of my favorite places though because they have such affordable items for your home and wardrobe. I still go there when I visit my hometown to find good deals. I love how you styled that jacket! If you are a fan of thrifting, you may want to check out thrift stores in Goldsboro if you ever have time.
