This baby right here, my new DIY denim vest, was a labor of love. It took me days to apply 80 plus grommets to this denim vest, which is a lot of time, but I just love the way it turned out! Denim and gold is my favorite color combo currently. I use to be a silver wearer, but now all I really wear is gold jewelry. But let me clarify: gold costume jewelry, in a Cari-Bradshaw-kinda-way “for fun”.
I wanted to create a piece that had both denim and gold, of course, so I chained up the back of a denim vest that I had in my closet and added a pair of sleeves I cut off a sweatshirt. Confession: I’ve been a beginner sewer for about ten years now. I’m that girl who has three sewing machines but still uses a glue gun on clothes in an emergency or lazy moment. I feared a Gordon Gartrell disaster with the sleeves, but they actually turned out okay *self-air high five*. I added a white tank under the vest – it’s still winter here in NC, after all. In the summer I will probably throw on a bandeau top on if I can get this stomach of mine flat in time, LOL!
